Trapped in my cubicle for days uncounted
Stepping into the sun that got me tempted
The courtyard was just a place to be
A free empty space it gave to me
There! All peaceful and serene
Trees and flowers bubbly green
Garden seats well seated and idle
Sun lounger – a canoe without a paddle
The gracious sun made all resplendent
I lunched in for a moment transcendent
Eyes shut as the rays rained
Such a beauty that got me dazed
Never knew I’ve grown so visibly pale
And the frangipani lost its only belle
The taste of the air not stale but pure
Interrupted by the Indian biryani lure
The spring has given way to summertime
But it’s never as the other time
The gracious sun still makes us shine
Even when we cannot yet together dine
Time to go get me some coffee!
