The authority of the prophet is given to him or her to speak and stand on the truth, always – even at the cost of life. It is a very challenging task that it is risky to accept such an authority from God. For since we are all imbued with the instinct of survival, the tendency is to run away like the apostles did when the die is cast. Yet the Lord challenges us to commit ourselves to fidelity to the truth, to justice and peace, to the struggle for the liberation of those who have been struck down by the greed in the world today. Even when we fall, may we rise again. But then, it is important never to manipulate the message of truth, to bend justice and its course, to presume that the Lord has said when it is only the figment of our imagination. That God abhors. And even more terrible is the fact that whenever we entertain deceit in the things of God, we shield ourselves from the opportunity of repentance, of contrition, of change, and of transformation.
God loves you!
