Is Christianity losing its focus on Christ, particularly with the rise of the many powerful ‘men/women of God’? Granted that some of these prominent preachers have demonstrated humility and simplicity in the public, many have made the Christian message all about themselves.

You hear things like:

“I did this. I did that.”

Some would have people spread the cloth on the floor as they walked.

Some would make people even worship that seats they sat on.

When people come to church, they are also seeking for a place where their humanity can be honored, celebrated and dignified. But is that the case?

People’s poverty and wretchedness would be displayed and cajoled before the cameras before they given help. Very distasteful charity.

Like Christ preached, Peter has demonstrated through his action that we are all human beings. Christ came to show us the quality of our humanity – our humanity should not be sacrificed on the altar of power, fame, wealth. To these it shall not bow.

Only God deserves the adoration of our humanity. God alone!

So, once again, child of God, Get Up!
