#SV – Human Blood

The blood of Christ was shed because of the quality of our blood. If blood is a symbol of life, then this life is to be understood not only as physical, material, mortal but also spiritual. The redemption of our life is the mission of the Son of God and to do this, He paid with his blood. No longer was our covenant with God determined by the sprinkling of the blood of animals, because we are valuable. We are bought at a costly price. Christ’s blood upgraded the value of our blood.

The culture of death in different parts of the world makes it worrisome that we have lost the implication of the shedding of Christ’s blood. Our life matters. Our blood matters. Not the life or blood of some but that of all. Everyone. Christ redeemed all. And we have to stay conscious of this. May we never join in the spilling of any blood of our fellow human beings. Because just as the blood of Abel cries from the earth, the blood of many continue to wail on our streets, in the farmlands, in the ocean, in the deserts, in the abortion clinics, at the borders, and other dungeons of death.
