True faith necessarily produces good works. If it is true faith, then good works become a natural consequence – agere sequitur esse. Here lies the litmus test of faith, the ‘taste of the salt’ of the Gospel. The good works must not be limited to the ones that are done in the closet, rather faith should be capable of bringing the reign of God in the world as a place of justice and flourishing of all. The works of faith should challenge the status quo of needless suffering, of abject poverty, corruption, culture of death, and injustice anywhere. Faith, with its necessary works, should not be hidden under the bushel.
