At the end of the day, the only quintessential model is Christ, who gave it all that we might have life in abundance. While Paul’s model was not to overburden anyone, Christ model is to be a place refuge and rest for all who are beating any kind of burden. Christ is our burden bearer, the one who bore our sin and shame with his strips and death on the tree. As we struggle to imitate Christ, may others see light in our words and actions notwithstanding our imperfections. Amen.
