If Christ is not real then we are wasting time. But this is not the case. He is real. Yes, his death and resurrection are core parts of the mystery of our faith (mysterious fidei), yet he had to be born first. Being who he is, his birth was already foretold and this makes his history easily recognizable when it happened. Jesus happened, and that is why God is really with us in Christ. #SV – Every Day is the Day!

The time to live rightly is not tomorrow, but today for each day is the day. Staying awake is simply a metaphor to staying on the path of righteousness that Christ has laid out for us. We should stop behaving towards God in a transactional manner but to see godliness as a lifestyle, one that is designed to give us the very things that we desire – abundant life, peace, unity, prosperity, and a reign of love among men and women on earth. #SV – They Sneered at Him

The early Church was a community that understood the nature of Christ’s power that sought to conquer by love, humility, forgiveness even in the face of persecution, endurance and hope in the midst of uncertainty, and focus on the Kingdom of God. The Constantinian turn brought the Church into the corridors of state power and over time the understanding of power got corrupted – a big Church with its army and it’s big cathedrals, its control of people’s destinies and so on.
