Christ is the light of the world, and we who are baptized in Him should make the light of Christ in the world. But as long as we keep bickering and quarreling instead of being united in Christ, our witnessing would remain suspect. Unity in Christ does not mean uniformity but that in our diversity we can proclaim the same Gospel of Christ, with respect, friendship and recognition of one another. If Christ is not real then we are wasting time. But this is not the case. He is real. Yes, his death and resurrection are core parts of the mystery of our faith (mysterious fidei), yet he had to be born first. Being who he is, his birth was already foretold and this makes his history easily recognizable when it happened. Jesus happened, and that is why God is really with us in Christ.
