#SV – Every Day is the Day!

The time to live rightly is not tomorrow, but today for each day is the day. Staying awake is simply a metaphor to staying on the path of righteousness that Christ has laid out for us. We should stop behaving towards God in a transactional manner but to see godliness as a lifestyle, one that is designed to give us the very things that we desire – abundant life, peace, unity, prosperity, and a reign of love among men and women on earth. #SV – They Sneered at Him

The early Church was a community that understood the nature of Christ’s power that sought to conquer by love, humility, forgiveness even in the face of persecution, endurance and hope in the midst of uncertainty, and focus on the Kingdom of God. The Constantinian turn brought the Church into the corridors of state power and over time the understanding of power got corrupted – a big Church with its army and it’s big cathedrals, its control of people’s destinies and so on. #SV – Dearth of Models

At the end of the day, the only quintessential model is Christ, who gave it all that we might have life in abundance. While Paul’s model was not to overburden anyone, Christ model is to be a place refuge and rest for all who are beating any kind of burden. Christ is our burden bearer, the one who bore our sin and shame with his strips and death on the tree.
