Yes, his death and resurrection are core parts of the mystery of our faith (mysterious fidei), yet he had to be born first. Being who he is, his birth was already foretold and this makes his history easily recognizable when it happened. Jesus happened, and that is why God is really with us in Christ. We should stop behaving towards God in a transactional manner but to see godliness as a lifestyle, one that is designed to give us the very things that we desire – abundant life, peace, unity, prosperity, and a reign of love among men and women on earth.
