There is zero cost to the gifts of God no matter the number of those gifts. God loves unconditionally and gives gratuitously. This is the meaning of grace – absolutely free gift. So, for those who demand money for miracle or for spiritual services – I say, SIMONY! God’s gifts cannot be sold. There comes a responsibility though once we receive gifts – GRATITUDE. When was the last time you said “thank you very much”, not just for the expensive gift that you received, but for the presence of the other person. When we are not thankful people, we often become hostile to any person we encounter. Most acts of hate, unforgiveness, hurt and derision that we give to others stem from the fact that we are not people of gratitude. Often, our faith is measured by our attitude of gratitude. We often tend towards big things, and we end up neglecting important things. We reserve our gratitude for the ‘all expense paid meal at an exquisite hotel’ and never for the rain that made the food grow; we prefer to be grateful for the lump sum of money that is wired to our account by our rich parents than that poor aunty who calls to check on us.
