Christ is the light of the world, and we who are baptized in Him should make the light of Christ in the world. But as long as we keep bickering and quarreling instead of being united in Christ, our witnessing would remain suspect. Unity in Christ does not mean uniformity but that in our diversity we can proclaim the same Gospel of Christ, with respect, friendship and recognition of one another. At the end of the day, the only quintessential model is Christ, who gave it all that we might have life in abundance. While Paul’s model was not to overburden anyone, Christ model is to be a place refuge and rest for all who are beating any kind of burden. Christ is our burden bearer, the one who bore our sin and shame with his strips and death on the tree.
